York Minster - North Transept and Chapter House

Near the North Transept is an area dedicated to military units through the ages and their sacrifice.

This is the five sisters stained glass wall. My wife, who had been here previously, noted that the glass was very dark. There are ongoing plans to clean it up.

There is a passageway to the Chapter house, where the clergy would discuss matters of the church.
The windows of the chapter house. The acoustics are amazing and a person on one end can converse with another clearly.
The ceiling of the chapter house. More on that later.
Tiled floor of the chapter house.
There are dozens of interesting and amusing gargoyles on the walls of the chapter house.
They have over sixty green men in the cathedral, as it was a strong myth in the area.
The detail on the chapter house doors are incredible.
What is that lady walking into behind the door? Find out next post.
