France - Loire day 03 - Chateau Cheverny Outside

Chateau Cheverny, with its current outside look, was finished in 1630. It was built on the foundations of a previous fortified castle. The Hurault family opened the Chateau to the public in 1914 and it remains a premier tourist place to visit.
The garden area and outbuildings are in excellent shape. The multicolored lines in the garden are crushed glass.
They even have koi fish in these pools for winter storage.
Myself and my wife liked the slate tablets that are used for marking the plants nearby.
The pathway in front of the Chateau uses the same gravel that I would like in front of my mansion…sigh...if i had one.
Around back, it has the remnants of the old moat but as you can see with the car, it acts as a driveway now.
The gardens out back will look amazing in the spring and summer.
This is the estate’s Orangery which has been altered to be used as a little conference center.
