France - Loire day 03 - Chateau Cheverny Tintin Exibit

Chateau Cheverny was the inspiration for the Tintin comics property, Marlinspike Hall. Captain Haddock obtains it in the Secret of the Unicorn and it was built by one of his ancestors. Tintin is a comic that started in 1929 by illustrator and writer Georges Remi (pen name Herge) and ran until 1986. I and my wife are big Tintin fans so this exhibition was a big treat.
The hats and canes are owned by the Thompson twins. Not the 80’s band but two detectives. They are bumbling and have often investigated Tintin but also consider him a friend.
The secret code sheets, from the Secret of the Unicorn story, brought to life.
The result of the deciphering of the code led to the basement of the estate where Tintin broke a hole through a brick wall and discovered the secret accumulated wealth of the estate.
Professor Calculus’s lab, brought to life from the comic books. He was the scatterbrained but amazingly intelligent acquaintance to Tintin in the later books.
Some items on his desk with items from the multi-part moon story arc.
Some clothes that Tintin has worn on his many adventures.
The shark submarine in “Red Rackham’s Treasure”.
A page from the "Secret of the Unicorn" story.
Tintin and Captain Haddock walking to Marlinspike Hall. Add a wing to each side of the building and you have Chateau Cheverny.
