France -Loire day 03 - Chateau Chambourd Ground Floor

The main core of Chateau Chambourd is the staircase. It may or may not have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci. It has four entrances at each level and a person can be walking up from each one and never meet the others but see them through windows at various points. As you can also see the halls were massive.
It was so massive that, as it was mid March, it was freezing cold. The fires the staff had in the fireplaces were excellent spots to take a break.
Here is a handy map of the place. In upper floors only the central castle and w wing on each side continues upwards. It would also make a great map for a role playing game.
This was the symbol for King Francis; a salamander.
This is the hunting room with various trophies.
Another huge room with huge paintings. The rooms we were allowed in, the main "inner castle" area on the ground floor were mostly super large rooms.
Here I am going up the stairs taken from the opposing stair.
