France - Loire day 03 - Chateau Cheverny Ground Floor

Upon first entering the home, the impressive staircase stand in front of you. The antlers above the armor on the first landing, is from a local prehistoric animal.
This is a comic page made for the Chateau by Herge, displayed in the lobby.
The door to the right of the entry leads to this hallway.
It has scenes from the book Don Quixote.
The main dining hall has a hidden door with a dumbwaiter for food.
The hutch is remarkably carved.
I really like not only the painting and carving of the door but the locking devices on it too.
In the other wing is the family tree of the owners of the Chateau. They still live here today and use the third floor (closed to visitors).
The main lounge looks like the kind of place I could get used to.
The painting and wall decorations surrounding it are masterful in their execution.
Another room of tasteful elegance.
A fantastic looking library.
A very cute painting of a woman on the first night of her marriage.
