Noirfest 2022 at Averill Creek

My wife and I participated in Noirfest yesterday at Averill Creek, just North of Duncan. It was a gathering of producers of Pinot Noir from BC and Ontario as well as local chefs making wonderful food items. We paid extra for bus transportation from Uptown to the site and back again.

Chef Nicole Gomes, a Top Chef /Top Chef All-stars/Iron Chef/Beat Bobby Flay contestant and owner of Cluck n Cleaver in Calgary, was the star chef here and her food was fantastic.

Each producer had their own barrel and umbrella (temperature was around 26 at mid day, and gave many pours and good conversation about their wines. There was a few sparking Pinot Noirs which was interesting.

Below are some close ups of the food bites. Mushroom flatbread and lamb slider.

Several bites into an arancini ball.

Tofu pocket with tuna.

Chicken and pork belly skewers.

We had been to this winery quite a few years ago and the view is always spectacular.
