Feelings of the Day: Sometimes your body has had enough. Many things can lead to this: overexertion, poor diet, too much alcohol, and stress. When it is not one of those four, it's something from outside that is to blame. When on a vacation it sucks a lot. Often there are things scheduled. Fortunately, I was on my own schedule.
Full Day’s Events: I woke up late this morning and my sinuses felt stuffed. My body, once vertical, started to drain like a fountain at Villa D’Este. My sneezing had graduated to a cold. It could have been the close confines at the Accademia while waiting in line near coughing visitors for the Copri Modeni exhibit, coupled with the industrious walk yesterday near runners/joggers/walkers of the around Venice event. I’ll just go with that because it doesn’t matter in the end.
There was a pharmacy in the Campo by me so, google translate text already written and mask on, I showed them my symptoms and request for something to help and they sold me a box of powder that you drink after dissolving it in hot water. I also picked up some throat soothing lozenges. Taking the non-drowsy powder, I waited for it to take effect while having a shower. Then I had a nap. Feeling at 60% I went for a walk in the Santa Croce district at around 1130.
While doing so I got tired easily, so lunch at a distance from KMZero (seafood, gnocchi, and mixed vegetables) and I started walking around again.
The area was interesting with lots of different bridges next to one another, a bus depot, a HUGE parking garage going to the only road on or off Venice, another building for the university of Venice, and in parts a more casual modern architecture. I lasted until 2pm and had to call it. I was starting to fade and my sinuses were leaking again.
I had another hot water & powder drink, showered, napped, read & wrote, made a meal, and had another powder drink before going to bed. Most of the day had a long date with my cold, but I was starting to feel better. 7.8km, 17 flights, 7 previously crossed and 40 new bridges walked.
