Sintra - National Palace of Sintra

The National Palace of Sintra was originally built by the Moors in the 11th century. After King Henriques defeated them, his decendant King Dinis  extended and improved it starting in 1281. New additions were made over time. It was used up until the monarchy was overthrown in 1910 and a republic established.
