Postcards of the Interwebs - 06 March 2013

Another month and another round of interesting weblinks...

LOTR Propaganda Posters: Some are silly but most are clever.

How Pigeons geo-locate themselves: Very interesting article on how pigeons use low frequency sound waves of 0.1 hz to make a map in their heads in order to find their way.

Priest defies gag order: I find it amusing that a radical group of liberal followers who went against the normal status quo (and allowed priests to marry) about 2000 years ago, are now stogy conservatives that stamp out dissent. Sigh. But I was raised Roman Catholic so now I feel guilty saying it. Sigh.

Trent Raznor's new video from his new album: A haunting video from a multi-genre musical artist and his new band, "How To Destroy Angels".

Time-lapse split screen on a tram: Very good idea and eye from this photographer.

The molecule TIC10 may hold the key to fighting cancer: This molecule, once activated, gets the body to get rid of cancerous cells. I saw a fantastic program on Nova on "What Darwin Never Knew" that made me understand more that our bodies are wondrous things that have great potential if only we can unlock the doors.

Rushing persons with Dyslexia causes them to read better: I enjoy articles that explore and analyze a common consensus and turn it on its head. It shows that the Mythbusters style of testing hypothesis impartially is the way to truth.
