Church of Silence and Church of the Rock (Temppeliauko)

The Church of Silence is run as a cooperative between the Lutheran church and Helsinki social services and was built in 2012. It is built in Narinkka square, one of the busiest areas of Helsinki, and was constructed in order to have an oasis of calm.
There are no weddings at this chapel and there are services regularly conducted here. ALder is used in strips for the walls and the furniture is made from ash tree. It is a good place for a calm moment.

The  Church of the Rock or Temppeliauko was built in 1969.
It was excavated directly into solid rock, can seat 750 people, and has excellent acoustics for the regular services and concerts held here.
The ceiling is made up of thirteen miles of copper ribbon.
