Streets of Helsinki - Part 3

They have an old brick fire department building still in use in the downtown core.


The Central train station was designed by Eliel Saarinen. He designed this in 1902 and also designed the National Museum, posted earlier. His son would design the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.


This is one of the Russian built administration buildings done in neo-classical style. Having been to Greece, Italy and Washington DC it definitly has that old time feeling.
