Castelo of Evoramonte

The castelo of Evoramontwas made in the late 12th century. Some of the walls and main keep were destroyed by an earthquake in 1531 and were rebuilt.
The main gate in the modern era.
The walls are very walkable.
This is the older gate.
The population in the walls has declined over the years. We saw very few locals but they did have a gift shop/TI.
We missed the time when the keep was open, alas.
Back to the main gate!
