Gulbenkian Museum - The really old stuff

Calouste Gulbenkian was an Armenian oil tycoon who took up residence in Portugal during WW2. As thanks, he created a billion dollar (and growing) estate in Lisbon and Portugal dedicated to the arts and history. He donated 10% of his vast fortune to this endeavour and is well regarded by the Portuguese as the way the wealthy should give back to the society they live in. His museum is considered the best in Lisbon and many consider it to be one of the finest in Europe. I would concur, in particular for its excellent snapshot of excellent condition representatives of the eras on display. Well worth a visit.
This fellow was an early Ptolmaic pharaoh,  around 275 BCE. Incredible detail work.
A Greek vase from 440 BCE.
A silver censure, Greek, from 3rd century BCE.
Assyrian wall carving of Nimrod, around 860 BCE.
Look at the cuneiform and how it is incorporated in the wall carving. Magnificent!
