Idanha-a-Nova

Idanha-a-Nova is a region of Portugal with lots of history. Of note is the town of Monsanto, town of Idanha-Veda and Penha Garcia which will appear in the posts to come. Here are some shots of around the main city of the same name.

Here is the evening view of the friend's place we were staying at.
The Management school, a division of the local university, is housed in a 17th century mansion.

We liked this particular tile and sitting area below the balcony.
The local government is very pro-small business and community orientated. This ampetheater is one example of the civic facilities. Their library and civic centre are also new and well organized.

This is the old road into town and by old road I mean Roman road! There is also the ruins of a castle that we unfortunately never got to. Next time.
