Idanha-a-Vela - 2 of 3

Ruins of the Roman wall and buildings.
The Cathedral of Idanha-a-Velha, built in the 4th century and a basillica added in 585. It was converted into a mosque after the Moors took over and turned over tot he Templar knights during the reconquest. It is was a museum but it has recently been cleared out for use as space for functions and celebrations.
Very impressive columns.
You can still see the detail of the art on the walls.
