The Hill on the Wall B&B was a pleasant place to stay the night. It has lovely accommodations and a great breakfast.
The house is quite large and parts of it date from 1595.
The foyer was inviting and I really liked the church pew benches.
We stayed in "Caligula's Chamber" which wasn't as mad as it sounds.
The view out the front showed a portion of the Hadrian's wall trail.
The common room was nice and cosy. It also had lots of books and films for cold nights or rest days.
The breakfast was very filling for the days walk.
My wife had a smaller breakfast with some berries and dates.
