Streets of York - Part 4

Some scenes while walking about.
 There was an aviary society that had some of their birds out and for a small donation you could have a picture taken with one of them. They were very laid back.

 The coat of arms of King James the sixth and James the first of Scotland. He stayed here for a bit.


 Clifford's Tower or York Castle, if you include the buildings below, are a series of structures that have existed or were built over the last 900 years. Clifford's tower was the site of where the remaining Jews of York, in 1190, fled the mobs to and killed themselves rather than convert to christianity. There are daffodil bulbs planted all over the mound because they resemble the star of David when they bloom.
