Corbridge to Aydon Castle Walk

After the Roman fort and town of Corbridge, we started walking to start the Hadrian's Wall walk. The countryside was exactly what I expected to see from watching so many British tv shows and films.

Nice stone road across the creek and wooden fences to keep the animals from wandering.
We saw this permissive footpath sign and thought why not after seeing that Aydon castle was noteworthy in our guide. These stepovers would turn out to be one of the common methods of going over fences.
Some poppies growing among the grain.
The trail is easy to miss unless you are on top of it.
A nice butterfly.
Some flowers in the grain.
The castle Aydon on the hill.
A forest trail had to be walked through.
This part reminded me of British Columbia a little.
