Backroad Drive from Sackville to Dieppe along the Petitcodiac

(Delayed posting. Visited during summer 2024)

Route 935, 106, and 925 in New Brunswick was the route that our family took to go from Moncton to Dorchester to see my grandparents, with occasional visits to Sackville and nearby communities. They were one lane each way and although I am not sure why we never took the highway it meant for a more pleasant drive. The very old houses, small towns, and mysterious stores were magical to me and helped to fill my imagination during the drive. The lack of streetlights also meant a sound sleep during the drive back to Moncton.

Those places have shrivelled since I last went through them when I was in my early teenage years. The new expanded highway has only accelerated the fading of these towns. There is still character here and there and it awaits an energetic community to make their area be a place where folks want to go. Here are the pictures of my drive through this well travelled roadways.

I challenge you to take a detour off the highway to bypassed communities. You might just find a good new memory or three.
