A Day around Wolfville

(Delayed posting. Visited during summer 2024)

Today I spent a day in and around the town of Wolfville, just West of Grand Pre. However, before going West, I started the day going East a very short way away to Just Us Coffee

I have been stopping here for years, whenever in the area, for coffee or spicy hot chocolate. Today it was a mocha to go, in my travel mug, and a breakfast of frittata and bagels with home made jam.

Next was the Wolfville Farmer's Market, open Saturdays. The variety and quality of goods being sold was impressive, but not surprising. This town is within the bread basket of Nova Scotia and is also an artisan and cultural area supported by those who live here. Various shops have a multitude to offer those who appreciate those kind of things, like me.

After walking around it was time for lunch at JeJu Restaurant.

I had the lunch bento box with beef teriyaki, miso soup, fried dumplings, and salad. It filled me just right for an excellent price. Flavours were fresh with varied textures.

After an afternoon at Acadia university's library, for local and maritime history research, it was time for supper. I chose Troy Restaurant & Grill, after looking at some menus, and was quite happy with my choice.

I had as an appetizer the Mutabel: roasted eggplant, tahini, garlic, lemon, grilled pita.

For a main I had the local lamb cutlets, rice pilaf, mixed salad, chimichurri sauce, and chilli sauce. In particular the lamb was very good especially with the chimichurri.

I then went back to my hotel, emailed folks, read, and turned in early.
