Books, Coffee, Drinks, and Food in Halifax

(Delayed posting. Visited during summer 2024)

Here are some places of note during my stay in the Halifax area.

Trident Booksellers & Cafe with delicious chai latte or moka, also has used and new books. The staff is knowledgable about both and there is one published author who works here.

Dartmouth Book Exchange is a HUGE book store with a discount area and lots of many genres. It is well organized and staff are helpful.

With an old friend and his partner I had, at the Stubborn Goat, Mac n' cheese with truffle oil, mushrooms, and arugula. Nice combination! Unfortunately its no longer on the menu.

Cabin Coffee (be aware that their website is not secure) has a drink my sister insisted that I try: steamed milk infused with maple syrup. As she told me, so it was, "marshmallowy maple goodness". Best not to have more than one each day though. Delicious.

While waiting for the new library to open I had a second breakfast across the street. Pane E Circo reminded me of French cafes in Paris with its decor and quality croissant.

For food on the go, Potikki's hits the spot. Especially if you are hankering for East Indian curry poutine!

I had the butter chicken, on rice rather than fries, at medium heat. It was wonderful rich flavour. My sister had me try some of their Kashmiri apple fries and it was hard to stop.
