Spain Day 06b-Alcazar Inside Part 2

The courtyard of the maidens, the center of Pedro's palace. The upper floors were added in the 1500's and are used by the current ruling family. The water, greenery, tilework, and masonry all blend into a calming and cool environment to relax in.

Even the doors are intricately done with geometric designs.


I like how the blank spaces make the intricate and different parts more beautiful.


The hall of the ambassadors was King Pedro's throne room made in the 1300's. Astounding.


The baths of Maria de Padilla, underneath the palace. It is filled by rainwater and used by King Pedro's mistress for whom it is named.


With some well placed lighting and raised floors installed it gains a level of calm with the addition of the ferns and green plants.
